COVID-19 Guidelines for In-Person Coaching

COVID-19 Guidelines for In-Person Coaching

Overview

  • We are doing everything possible to provide a safe OUTDOOR in-person coaching experience.
    • Our building will be locked. That means restrooms will be closed.
  • Sessions will be outdoors.
    • Dress appropriately for the weather.
    • We are temporarily waiving our 48 hour cancellation policy to allow you to re-schedule an appointment due to weather.
  • We are open for coaching sessions only and cannot allow practice outside of coaching time.
  • While we are making substantial safety efforts, you are ultimately responsible for your own safety while at our school.
    • Outlined below are guidelines to help you. Please read them carefully.
    • If you feel the need to implement additional safety measures we will do our best to respect your wishes.
Scheduling Re-scheduling
  • If you feel ill, please reschedule.
    • If your coach is ill we will also be rescheduling.
  • Please consider that the weather is rarely as bad as the forecast so we recommend you make every effort to attend your lesson as scheduled. Because we are spacing lessons further apart to avoid crowding, our schedules are very full. If you do decide to cancel due to weather we will do our best to reschedule you as soon as possible.
  • Rescheduling prior to the day of your session:
    • Contact Ann using the information above.
  • Same day rescheduling (to be used only due to health or weather):
    • Coach Dom 215.862.9045
    • Coach Mark 215.932.3208
What to Bring
  • Your own tees - we are unable to offer them at this time.
  • Your own golf balls for putting.
  • A mask. Wearing a face mask is recommended at all times.
    • If you experience an urgent need for a restroom, you will be permitted to do so only with a mask.
  • At least two towels. We cannot provide them.
  • Your own drinking water. We cannot offer it at this time.
  • DO NOT bring any food to your session.
  • Wipes to clean your hands and equipment. Instructions for making them at home are here
Arriving for Your Session
  • To avoid contact with anything potentially contaminated, carts will not be available. You will need to walk to our facility.
  • Arrive at the school 10 to 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled time.
    • Based on our need to follow rigorous procedures and to avoid crowding, sessions will start and end on time.
  • You will have the opportunity for a brief warmup at our school. DO NOT warm up at the top of the range as Jericho National has its own set of safety procedures and this includes limiting access to practice. JNGC members must discuss use of their practice facility with JNGC staff.
    • Golf balls will not be set out as usual. Your coach will provide them for coaching sessions only.
    • We are unable to allow you to practice after your session or at any time not in the presence of your coach.
    • Only the player being coached at that time may use the tees, green, etc.
    • Make an effort to avoid touching golf balls that are not your own. If you will be teeing up shots discuss the strategy for your session with your coach. Putt with your own balls.
  • Parents/drivers may attend sessions but must follow all guidelines.
    • If attending, we are unable to offer seating. We suggest bringing your own lawn chair or towel to sit on.
During Your Session
  • We will be observing strict social distancing guidelines.
    • Coach and player will remain at least 6 feet apart - 10 feet if it is windy.
    • There will be no handshakes or fist bumps.
  • Equipment
    • Your coach will not touch your golf bag or your clubs.
    • If you use an alignment stick you may set up your own or your coach will set up one of ours.
    • Touch our equipment only if your coach directs it and if you feel 100% safe doing so. Your coach will wipe down a training aid in your presence before suggesting you use it.
    • If you accidentally touch anything (including handrails, doorknobs, alignment sticks, golf balls, etc.)
      • For the safety of others use the wipes you brought with you to wipe the area down.
      • For your safety sanitize your own hands.
    • In the exceedingly rare circumstance that we enter the building (lightning, for example) only your coach may touch door knobs, light switches, etc. Masks are required to enter the building - no exceptions.
After Your Session
  • To minimize social interaction you must leave immediately at the conclusion of your session.
  • DO NOT stop at the top of the range to practice. Jericho National has its own set of safety procedures and this includes limiting access to practice. JNGC members must discuss use of their practice facility with JNGC staff.
  • Please take anything you brought with you - empty water bottles, towels, etc.
  • Payment
    • As cash passes through many hands we strongly discourage cash payment.
    • Most of our players are on prepaid programs using checks or credit cards. In the interest of contactless payment if you are willing to move to that type of arrangement, please contact Ann.
    • If you will be paying by check (or in a rare circumstance using cash) your coach will provide a box in which you will deposit your payment.
      • If you do this, do it cautiously to avoid touching the box. If you do touch the box, please sanitize immediately.
      • In the rare case that you are using cash please place in an envelope marked with your name.
Additional Precautions We are Taking
  • Frequent hand washing.
  • Frequent cleaning of all areas, especially high touch areas.
  • Frequent cleaning of training aids, alignment sticks, etc.
