LuLu has been providing a challenging golf experience to members since 1912. The course was designed by the venerable Donald Ross, th best known golf course architect in the U.S. at the time.  It was one of Ross' earliest efforts outside of Pinehurst and his first course in the state of Pennsylvania. Having been a farm, few trees existed on the property. This led Ross to construct many bunkers and hazards to challenge even the best player. Trees were planted and today stand tall throughout the property.
