You, Hunter and Tiger Can Access the Best...

Our students benefit from the best tools and training available anywhere in golf. How do we know we're offering the best?

On Monday, October 24, members of the Philadelphia PGA section heard from Sean Foley, whom most will recognize as coach to Hunter Mahan and Tiger, among others. Sean's talk quickly revealed the philosophy, training and tools that he relies upon with these tour pros.  Sean uses:

  • A wholistic approach to training, including mental training
  • Ball flight knowledge and analysis using TrackMan
  • A Golfing Machine background
  • Knowledge of Biomechanics - how the body works

Listening to Sean certainly reinforced our own approach to coaching golfers.

  • Our Golf Matrix philosophy is an integrated approach that helps students improve all aspects of their game. From how to practice, to which equipment is best, to course management, we cover it all. We use our certifications in both GolfPsych and Dr. Rick Jensen's Certified Golf Coach curriculum as the basis for our mental training.

  • Dom has always emphasized the importance of ball flight in teaching golf.  In fact, many years ago, the first thing he taught Mark about teaching golf is that ball flight is #1 and swing style is a distant #2. This year we added TrackMan to our own technology stable, becoming one of only a handful of golf facilities in the Mid Atantic area to offer this tool.  TrackMan allows us to measure ball flight and club delivery with unmatched precision and, just as important, it makes it a lot easier for us to pass on our ball flight knowledge to you.

  • Both Dom and Mark are The Golfing Machine AI's (authorized instructors.)  Not only that, both have attended the Master class for a more thorough understanding of this important instructor training.
TGM is simply THE comprehensive authority on swing technique, and it's backed by science.

  • Our TPI  Level II Biomechanics certifications help us to understand  body related issues. In addition, we use K-Vest.  It helps us diagnose with extreme precision and provides you with the opportunity to train with bio-feedback.  Bio-feedback means you can practice and in real time, get audio feedback when you do it correctly or incorrectly, depending on how the instructor sets up the drill.

And, while we are not sure if Tiger uses Sean's help with his putting, we do know that Tiger uses the same putting technology that we do - the Science and Motion PuttLab. It provides precise feedback on the most important putting parameters and allows us to determine which aspects of your set up and stroke provide the most opportunity for improvement.  Tiger "followed our lead" and bought one for himself several years after we already had one here for you.

The Results Speak for Themselves...

DDSOG students have posted two more wins on the prestigious IJGT Tour.

R.C. Massimino shot a two round total of 149 to finish first in the Boys Under 14 Division at Architects in Lopatcong, NJ on October15 and 16. He bested the second place finisher by 10 strokes. R.C.'s score would also have placed him in a tie for third place in the 15-19 year old division. Congratulations, R.C.

Stephen Cerbara took the trophy in the Boys under 14 Division at Penn State on October 22 and 23. His two round total of 151 gave him a 5 stroke victory over the runner up. Stephen also finished high in the overall field as he would have finished solo third against 15 - 19 year old players. Great play, Stephen!

We are proud of R.C. and Stephen and all of our students whose hard work and passion lead to success on the course.
